Happy New Year!!
What's your new year's resolution? I'm not sure if I really have an official one this year. They are small, like buy more fresh produce and keep up with everything financially. I also need to pay more attention to my house, to keep it in tip top shape. I've just got to notice what's broken then fix it. I know that sounds easy, but I'm so lazy that when I see something not just perfect, I'd rather just live with it than do the work required. For instance, I've had dial-up internet so long, I've just rather live with it than sign up for some new thing I had to learn. I forced myself though, as a present for myself, to get it. So, I've got high speed, woo hoo.
Last night Cory and I went to a New Year's party... a costume party. For the preceeding days, I thought for sure we wouldn't go. How could we put together a costume in so little time, but yesterday at about 5pm we decided we would go as villians. I went as catwoman decked out in all black with hose that was ripped, and a cat ear creation made from cardboard. Cory went as evil Dr. Electro. He donned some jumper cables, batteries, and a lot of red paint and duck tape. Dr. Electro is from Batman V, have you seen it? :P It was fun though. Cory really didn't know anyone there, but my friend Urvashi invited a lot of nice drunk people, so it was cool. It probably helped that we had a couple of drinks too. At midnight we drank champagne then hugged and kissed just about everybody.
Friday Cory and I went to Torrey Pines in San Diego to take pictures. It's like our hobby to compete; I've got film, he's got digital. One of the many issues with film though is with manual loading of film, sometimes it doesn't go through. When I rewound, it took very little time, so I'm worried I didn't actually take the pictures ONTO the film. So crap. Good news is that Cory took basically the same photos I did with a reliable digital camera. So you'll see those on his website soon, I'm sure.
On the same roll, I had a couple of night photos we took way outside Apple Valley Thursday night. We went out late with some hot chocolate, his telescope, and some beef sticks to just gaze. It's was so cold though. I layed on the hood of the car bundled in my jacket, scarf, hat combination to get the heat that still radiated from the engine. All in all it was very enjoyable; however, the pictures didn't come out super fantastic. Cory will probably post those as well
Wow, long entry. Okay, so here's to a good start writing in my journal every week. I hope I continue it through this year... 2006!!
